SNOW!

Cool! It snowed today for the first time this winter here in Switzerland! It all melted, but it was pretty cool. It's still snowing but it's going to be warm the next few days so the snow will definitely not stay. well, at least it was pretty to look at.

Back from germany!

Hello! I just came back from Germany! It was awesome there and I learned quite a bit of German!it was nice there and the school was good too. well, see ya!

Sorry that I couldn't post for a while. I was busy with my school work and when I wasn't, I was busy with German. Anyways, today is the beginning of ........(drum roll) ....... Autum Vacation! (hooray!!!) The bad part about it is that I have to go to Germany for the whole time (Awwwww maaaan!!!!!). AND got to the school there. that's two weeks down the drain folks. Well, I probably won't be able to post during that time either. (SOOOO SOOORRRYYYYY!!!) I hope you have a nice weekend.

Rock Climbing

I just got back from my rock climbing adventure. It was a school trip and about 30 people went. It was very fun and I learned all sorts of stuff like how to tie knots and stuff. It was only 2 days but we got to rock climb most of the time. It was pretty cool.

Mc Donalds in Switzerland

It's not only in Swiss. In Europe, McDonalds are turning FANCY! We went to one today, and the food tasted better, The prices don't change much and It looks very good on the inside. You can use the internet on computers there if you pay and if you bring you own laptop, the internet is free. You can listen to iPods there for free, and wait for it... you get t try out the new PS3 for FREE!!! I was suprised as well as happy. BIG change from America.

Third Week of School

Well, I'm enjoying school and we've come upon our first holiday of the year. 9/10/07 is 'Knabenschiessen' day or 'Boy shooting day'. No, it is not about shooting boys. It's about kid's from Zurich having a shooting competition. the winner gets money. It is not only for boys either. about 6 to 10 years ago, (you can never be sure.) they started letting girls in the fun as well. 2 years ago, the winner was a girl. You know, Switzerland has weird holidays. at the end of winter there is also a holiday where they make a snowman out of Paper mache and put explosives in it's head. Then they burn it. People get really excited when the head explodes and it is said that the speed that the snowman burns determines how good the winter is going to be. Sounds weird to me, but it sure beats going to school.

Second Week of School

Second week of school is over and I'm still alive. that's a good sign. They are still "testing" my abilities and everything is very easy. except German, of course. I got some good friends now and they seem very nice. Right now were going to visit Germany to meet some of our friends.

First week of school over!!!

Sorry that I couldn't post for a while since My parents told me that I couldn't use the computer on the weekdays despite my protests so I had to wait for the weekend. Now I have to tell you all about my new school. The teachers are nice and I like the subjects. of course, they all speak German so I have no clue what they are talking about half the time. The best part is that there is a 2 hour lunch break every day and a half day every week. I have mixed opinions of the kids there. I don't know very many people but the people that I met so far are nice. that is, they were nice enough to get to know me. Well, life at school isn't too bad. Besides the fact that English is easy, I like this school. well, ciao!

Day before school

We are very busy unpacking boxes and stuff. I can't believe that school will be starting tomorrow. I am half excited and half scared to death. I have no idea how I am going to survive. well, better enjoy my last bit of vacation while I can. Ciao!

Back from the Alps!

Boy! That was fun! I went up the mountains a couple of times and I also went on the glacier there! awesome! It was the longest glacier in the alps. The day after we visited the glacier was green-peace day or something and about 400 lunatics walk around naked on the glacier. I was glad I wasn't there. the weather there was also amazing in the morning It may be raining slightly and by noon the rain would stop and at night, It would rain a lot. I'm sad to be back since I miss the alps and I'm going to school in 2 days. In fact, tomorrow is my last day of Vacation! Very sad.

Surprising news

When we wnt to the playgroun yesterday, we met a nice person who has been living here for about 10 years. He told us that the kids here start going to school by themselves at age 4. That surprised me very much. Today, we will go to a plant museum. pretty exciting.

I'm so soory that I forgot to post this but I couldn't post for a while since I was visiting a village in Germany called eichstatt. I was isiting my friend there. he once came over to chicago once too.I hope you will forgive me for forgetting to tell you that I went. I went Aug. 1st and just came back. It was a very pleasant Journey. It was a nice break from my siblings since I went alone. now I am back in the chaos and am trying to survive. well, Until the next post!

I am sorry that I could not post for a while. We have been having geusts over and I couldn't find much time. Anyways, I am going to go to a house of my friend in germany that some of you may already know from the the time he came to Chicago not too long ago. I will hope it will be a nice vacation from all the chaos of my house.

Shocking Discovery!

I have known that Summer Vacation was short here, but when I found out that school starts august 20th, I was shocked! Not only is that early, but that is my birthday!

Harry Potter

It has been very sunny and clouds are starting to appear now. I guess it's going to rain again. toight, we're going downtown to buy a english version of Harry Potter 7 at 1:00 am. pretty exciting!

judgement and misjudgment.

It seem that I misjudged several things in Switzerland. First of all, there is internet connection on the weekends. Second of all, The weather here is getting hatter and hotter! two days ago, we noticed that there were no clouds and that the temperature was mild. yester day the weather was hot. today, the weather is even hotter! We rode a boat and thanks to the transparent roof and all the closed windows, It was hot and we all looked out at the water with thirst in our eyes. on the way back, we took a air-conditioned bus. It seems like there are more surprises coming up.

Swiss way of life.

Life in Switzerland has been awesome! It is very peaceful, energy efficient, and clean. If people spoke english here, It would be PERFECT!!! It has been cold and rainy for a few days but weather is improving. I hope I will survive in school.

The first weekend

One week has almost passed! oh boy! This weekend, we have been looking around Zürich. everywhere is so neat and clean!also, the seventh harry potter will be coming out soon and we can buy it in english. (thank goodness) All the food here is excellent exept it isn't cheap. I've only seen one Mc Donalds so far and it is on the small side and I'm guessing that people here don't like fast food much since they are not fat. Switzerland has been wonderful! Also, we learned that our building does not have internet on the weekends and most stores are closed on sundays.

Day four: the mountains

Today we went with some of our friends from germany to a mountain. I think it was called the Zürich Mountain since it is in Zürich (go figure). It was quite a climb. Our friends brought lots of food so we had a picnic. There were some kids there too and playing with them let me learn some German. It was quite fun and very tireing. Today was finally normal. I think I recovered from Jet Lag. So far Life has been treating me well in Switzerland.

The third Day...

I am so bored and there really is nothing much to do... the kids here still have school. looks like I have a tough school year coming up!

The Airport!

I am finally at the airport. we will reach Switzerland shortly! I can't wait! There is almost nothing I can buy since everything is in euros. I will write another post when I arrive at Switzerland.
